Are UFOs and Alien Abduction Products of One's Imagination?

There have been many claims of UFO and alien abduction. However, most of the reports aren't taken seriously. Stories of abduction have similar patterns on how they have experienced the encounter. Many of the abductees share common formats of experiencing sudden reawakening in a different place in a different time with luminous lights, and vague memories of abduction operations.

About 400 cases of UFO and alien abductions are reported every year according to CNN and BBC News. However, alien encounters and sightings have no actual accounting on the figures of the abductions that took place during those times. Scientists and reporters that believe extraterrestrial phenomenon say that abductees fear that they will be subjects of ridicule for claiming such encounters with unknown life forms. That is why they remain silent about their encounters.

These cases of alien encounters and sightings aren't just today's fads. UFO researchers have accounted these phenomenons even earlier than a hundred years ago. They found many old cave paintings, myths, and folklores that they say are evidences of alien occupancy on earth.

These evidences have no supporting proof to identify if these encounters really happened during the ancient times. One story of abduction was the report of Venerable Bede, an Anglo-Saxon scholar, who reported there was a nun who saw a dead body being lifted towards a spacecraft. This sighting was believed to be an abduction that had taken place in the late 700 AD.

Others believe that those fallen angels and demons referred to in the Bible manifest these creatures to deceive and encourage humans into believing false religion. Aliens are believed to hide their true form as angels of light. Some scriptures are even believed to be prophesies of extraterrestrials.

Researches still strongly believe that those who are claiming that they have encountered UFOs or have been abducted are suffering from sleeping disorders and insomnia. These revelations of seeing ghosts, alien abductions, and other paranormal visions were caused by a sleeping condition known as sleep paralysis. In a study conducted on twelve adults, who said that they were abducted, were found to have this kind of condition according to Professor Richard McNally of Harvard University.

Until now, alien abduction remains to be a mystery to people. Scientists strive very hard to prove whether they are true creatures or products of one's imagination. It may take a hundred years more before this will be proven.
