Defined Tag:

Kidney infection is a disease that actually started from urinary tract infection. Untreated urinary tract infection can progress to infecting the bladder and eventually, the kidneys. It begins from bacteria that infect the urinary tract through the urethra, which eventually reach the kidneys and multiply.

Kidney infection may also come from conditions such as pregnancy, cancer and kidney stones. These conditions lower the body’s ability to fight bacteria thus allowing bacteria in the urethra to multiply faster. Symptoms of infection are very sudden. The person will experience fever with chills, nausea and vomiting. The stomach gets upset and the lower back is painful. There is a frequent need or the inability to urinate. Urinating becomes painful and is accompanied by blood. There is also a burning sensation while urinating.

Another symptom of infection is fatigue. It is common to a person who frequently experience kidney infection. The person may not feel the attack for some time and then suddenly felt very exhausted. For no reason at all, the person may feel very tired and find ordinary movements very hard to accomplish. Immediately following this feeling will be an infection attack.

Chronic kidney infection is slow in developing. It is persistent and recurring. If it is not treated, it will lead to kidney failure. And if still not treated, it may lead to blood poisoning. Repeated kidney infection could also damage other organs of the body.

Treatment of kidney infection varies depending on the severity of the infection. Early stages of the infection can be treated using antibiotics and more water intake. Severe cases may require surgery. This is necessary when there is a blockage in one of the urethra. When the most severe case of blood poisoning occurred, dialysis treatment is necessary to remove toxins from the blood.
