UFOlogists Unite

With the growing number of what is said to be paranormal-encounters, the United States of America has government agencies that gather the documents and information regarding the subject matter. Apparently, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, National Security Agency and even the Central Intelligence Agency have all gathered texts related on the matter on their online data bases. Sightings in other countries also encouraged their governments to establish their very own agencies that concentrate on UFO research. One of which is the UFO Research Queensland Incorporated, located in Brisbane, Australia, it's a non-profit association that receives, confirms and records the sightings in the land down under. UFORQ educates those who are interested in unraveling the unknown with their bi-monthly journal UFO Encounter? They also conduct public meetings and conferences.

In the United Kingdom, the counterpart of UFORQ is the UFO Research Midlands or UFORM. As the UFO central data base in the UK, UFORM also collaborates with the Staffordshire UFO Group and the Welsh Federation of Independent UFOlogists. (Notice that there is a term for a profession concentrating on UFO research.)

Those who are interested in knowing more about life in outer space could also visit this site: http://www.uforc.com/. The UFO Resource Center provides reports, archived documents, recent sightings and supposed abductions. Because it is updated everyday, alien enthusiasts will find this webpage helpful and informative. It also offers updates from other continents, including the Middle East!

Then there's the Center for UFO Studies or the CUFOS which is a group of scientists, investigators, established members of the academe and volunteers from different countries who all united to examine and analyze the UFO phenomenon. Their scientific interests in the subject resulted to an archive of reports, documents and publications which they are willing to share with those who wish to participate in their activities.

The formation of the International Committee for UFO Research in 1979 promoted the exchange of information among UFO groups around the world. Like the United Nations, it was an organization of organizations. But membership was by invitation. However, it stopped operating in 1999, after twenty years of service.

With the help of internet, it is easier to research these unsolved mysteries: is there really life on other planets? How accurate are these abduction stories? Where exactly do these flying saucers and space ships come from and why do they fly all the way over here? Will the alien invasion they depict in the movies ever actually take place?

No one really knows for sure, but there's no harm collecting all the details, checking out the pictures and reading about abduction stories, right?
